The Bumper Book: A popular children's book left on the driveway in a rain storm. The textblock was swollen and warped, the cover was stained, warped and dissolving. Upon getting the book from the client, The Book Dr. just had to shake her head and try not to promise anything too miraculous since water damage is some of the worst damage to a book. The entire front paper with the design was saved and set into a new cover, the original illustrated flysheets were saved, the text was released, ironed and pressed. The textblock was shrunk from a swell of almost 2 inches back to it's normal size of 1/2 inch. When put all back together, this was truly the most amazing save by the Book Dr. and the client cried they were so happy.
